Enthusiasm.

That is the word that best describes Alessandro. He has the same enthusiasm and curiosity you find in a child, accompanied by a strong professionalism, an excellent organisation, and a wonderful team spirit. Ah, I forgot: he also has a large and honest smile.

Alessandro had been part of my team in the past, as a trainee. He has seen the early days of the new educational video project that led to the production of the Soyuz video series(which you can watch at the following links:     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVvgpKt5uCA, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l7MM9yoxII), analysing the potential for reuse of training lessons from the Shenanigans09 Basic Training for educational use.

Alessandro joined the ESA CAVES team last April, and in just a few weeks he made himself indispensable. He took over the handling of all operational equipment, of the new OPS LAN project, of the technology tests, of the “ground” infrastructure (supporting the external training mission control team during CAVES), and he’s now on the front line for all the new projects which this year will make CAVES even a better space analogue.

Just a few weeks back Alessandro joined the dry runs for CAVES 2014, and he was welcomed by the always exceptional staff of the CAVES team.

We have dragged him underground with us. He’s trapped!
