Busy weeks for spacetweeps! Hard on the heels of our #SocialSpace and CERN’s #Cerntweetup ESA is inviting applications for the ESTEC open day SocialSpace in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Here is a chance to visit ESA’s largest site and technical heart where most satellites are designed and tested.

For a handful of lucky social media space enthusiasts ESA is preparing a privileged SocialSpace event. The programme is to be confirmed but expect coffee with astronauts, private lectures, guided tours, front-row seats at public lectures, free lunch, and of course space goodies.

SocialSpace is dedicated to Bloggers and users of social media platforms following or interacting with ESA channels on a regular basis. The aim of this event is to give participants an exclusive insight into the world of space and gather social media users with an interest in space.

Places are extremely limited so apply before 15:00 CEST on 2 October with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your social media handle
  • Phone number
  • Address
  • Country of origin
  • In no more than 200 characters: why you should be invited to this event.

The SocialSpace is open to followers of ESA’s social media channels, who are over 18. The invitation is for one person only and not transferable.

ESA cannot contribute towards the cost of travel, board and lodging. The SocialSpace will take place on Sunday, 6 October 2013, 09:00–18:00 CEST at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The event will be held in English. Questions and posts are of course welcome in any language.

The Twitter account for this SocialSpace is @Social4Space. The hashtag is #SocialSpace. ESA will be sharing news about the event using this hashtag, and via Twitter, Google+ and Facebook.

Confirmation of acceptance

The deadline for registration is 2 October 2013 at 15:00 CEST. Once all of the applications have been processed, confirmation emails will be sent to the selected participants only, as will additional information for those on the waiting list. This will be done by 2 October 2013. Those invited must confirm their participation by 3 October at 15:00 CEST. We will keep you updated on Twitter at @Social4Space. Invitations are not transferable.
