The two Proba-3 spacecraft, set to launch in December, has now safely touched down at the Chennai airport in India.
The team members that had special authorization to be on the airport tarmac immediately boarded the cargo bay to close the containers to avoid any humid air enters the containers and create a risk of condensation on the spacecraft.
Then a convoy took on the 110 km transfer to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR).
The trip takes normally 2.5 hours, but the two trucks carrying the spacecraft containers moves slowly and it took almost 12 hours to reach SHAR entry gate in the middle of the night.
Upon arrival, the baton was passed to the teams already at SHAR which safely offloaded, cleaned, and transferred the containers to the cleanroom airlock so they can acclimatize to the cleanroom temperature. The coming days will be busy unpacking and preparing the set-ups for functional tests on the spacecraft.
