In the Art for Artemis project we are featuring work from design students from all over Europe. Two artworks will be selected to accompany the third European Service Module on its trip from the Airbus integration hall in Bremen, Germany, and all artworks will be on display at an exhibition in Bremen. Today’s featured artwork is by Lea Haumann from Hochscule Darmstadt, Germany. She writes:

My name is Lea Haumann and currently I’m studying Communication Design at Hochschule Darmstadt in Germany.

The inspiration of the artwork was to find an international language of greatness, dreams and new departures.

I went in search of our commonality as human beings, and it emerged through the eyes of children. Despite what makes us different, we all were children once and dreamed of exploring the vastness of this world and beyond.

The artwork was created in collaboration with Lynn (eight years old) who has given me one of her drawings. She chose her colours based on the ESA appearance.

My goal was to provide a framework for this work of art. The design is a mixture of digital and analogue techniques.

Lynn and I are honoured to be able to contribute a small part to this huge project through our creativity.
