The control centre in Toulouse is seeing frantic activity. Training by the ATC Training Academy (ATAC) is ongoing; each week, mission controllers are being trained for actual operational conditions in ATV-CC.
This one in particular is interesting:
… as it was taken in the Centre’s Simulation Control Room and shows the simulation controllers at work preparing to inject faults or other (fake) contingency situations into the system, forcing ATV engineers in the main control room (MCR) to react. The sim controllers can see into the MCR (via the large screen at top centre, which shows the view into the ATV Engineering Support Room) but the engineers can’t see what the sim guys are doing/planing. It’s very realistic training!
