While you’re waiting for tonight’s second ATV-2 deorbit burn, due at 20:51 UT / 22:51 CEST, watch this excellent ‘behind-the-scenes’ video report from the joint ESA/NASA airborne observation campaign for ATV Jules Verne in 2008. Tonight’s reentry will probably not be seen by anyone, but this footage provides a pretty good idea of what an ATV destructive reentry looks like.
