ESA and the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (Eumetsat) are pleased to invite you to the European launch event of the Meteosat Third Generation Imager-1 as part of our special social media group!
On 14 December, we are opening the doors of ESA’s European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in the Netherlands to ESA and Eumetsat social media followers for a special day dedicated to MTG-I1.

After the application process closes, we will review all applications. If selected, you will receive an invitation to attend the event.
The day will include a tour of Space Expo, tour of ESTEC testing facilities, interviews with key scientists and engineers from the MTG-I1 team and access to the exclusive launch event in the evening.
Food with vegetarian and vegan options will be provided. Travel and accomodation will not be offered.
MTG-I1, scheduled for launch on 14 December 2022 on an Ariane 5 rocket from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana, is the first satellite of the new Meteosat Third Generation series designed to revolutionise weather forecasting in Europe.
