Ahead of its liftoff, the SEOSAT-Ingenio satellite has been hoisted into the Vega launch tower at Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.

After being sealed in its Vega rocket fairing, SEOSAT-Ingenio Upper Composite has been transferred onto its transport platform and  rolled out to the launch pad.

Once in front of the launch tower, the Upper Composite has been hoisted into the launch tower and joined to the rest of the rocket.

After mating, a quick functional test has been performed on the satellite. During transfer and after mating a ventilation system is connected to the faring through a hose to keep temperature under control and ensure clean air inside the composite.

The mission is set for liftoff on Tuesday 17 November 2020 at 02:52 CET (16 November 22:52 local time in Kourou).

Information from SEOSAT–Ingenio will be used by different Spanish civil, institutional and government users, but also potentially by other European users in the framework of the European Union’s Copernicus programme and the Group on Earth Observations’ Global Earth Observation System of Systems.
