French scientist Antoine Collin is testing and validating the capabilities of the Sentinel-2 satellite to monitor coral bleaching – a result of the current El Niño weather event underway.

He sent us this video message from the island of Hiva Oa, in French Polynesia:

Antoine is now in Fatu Huku island, which contains the most developed coral reefs in the Marquesas Islands, to check their health. He will stay there until 29 February.
