The first ESA–Ars Electronica artist in residence, Aoife van Linden Tol, is currently visiting ESA’s European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt, Germany, for the arrival at Mars of the ExoMars mission, with the Schiaparelli module landing on the Red Planet and the Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) entering in orbit around Mars on 19 October 2016.

Later in 2016 and 2017, Aoife will spend several weeks at ESA’s technical centre, ESTEC, in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, to start the research part of her residency, working on her Star Storm project, a spectacular performance inspired by the physical processes that characterise the life of stars.

Follow live updates about ExoMars today via the ESA website and watch the live streaming from ESOC here starting 15:00 CEST.

More updates about Aoife’s experience at the ExoMars landing will come soon via this blog.
