Alexander Gerst is a European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut currently training for a flight to the International Space Station in May 2014. Alexander will spend six months on the ISS for ESA’s Blue Dot mission. He will become the third German to visit the ISS. Alexander is a geophysicist and a volcanologist. Alexander Gerst ist ESA-Astronaut und trainiert im Augenblick für einen Flug zur Internationalen Raumstation ISS im Mai 2014. Alexander wird im Rahmen seiner "Blue Dot"-Mission sechs Monate auf der ISS verbringen. Er wird der dritte Deutsche auf der ISS sein. Alexander ist Geophysiker und Vulkanologe.
