After an astronaut mission the International Space Station mission controls traditionally display the mission patch on their walls. Here are photos of Thomas Pesquet and the Expedition 51 team at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, USA, putting up the Expedition 51 patch. Similar ceremonies will occur at ESA’s Columbus Control Centre near Munich, Germany, and at the Russian control centre near Moscow, Russia.

Although Expedition 51 has formally ended the science continues with many experiments requiring Thomas to continue supplying data months after returning to Earth – to chart how his body is readapting to gravity.
