An amazing response to the ‘I’ll go where your music takes me’ article gave us a lot of tunes to choose from, with ideas from Spain, UK and the Netherlands, and even from as far as the Caribbean.

We decided on ten excellent tracks that we think complement André’s playlist. These have been uploaded to the ISS for listening in his off-duty moments. Please remember that you are still welcome to send in dedications or music suggestions at any time, from wherever you are. We’d also like to thank Mr M. von Herold, a medical student from Costa Rica, who sent in a song ‘The Happening’ from his band ‘The Waldners’.

A special thanks go to 3JS, the Volendam-based band who became nationally known after the success of their debut album, Watermensen, in 2007 and representing the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011. Lead singer Jan Dulles sent André a song specially written by the band called Weelderig Waardeloos. Jan said, “It would be great if he really listens to this song while he’s up there, this is a Dutch song about the simple beauty of Earth.”

So now for the Top Ten: the suggestions that have just gone into space from the first lucky music fans are:
