Over at NASA’s Glenn Research facility Plumbrook station the European service module test article was moved from its vibration table to the assembly high-bay area. This timelapse doesn’t do the huge size of the facility and the module justice. The Space Power Facility houses the world’s largest space environment simulation facilities including the Space Simulation Vacuum Chamber measuring 30-m in diameter and 37 m high.

Testing at the vibro-acoustic area are over for the time being for the test article and it was transferred across the Plum Brook facility for the next step: shock tests. It will be suspended at its lifting station and tested for the shocks that the real thing will experience when the rocket fairing is jettisoned and for the jolts experienced when the pyrotechnic bolts explose to separate the spacecraft from the spacecraft adapter after launch.
