Before leaving to Baikonur for launch Luca and his crewmates Karen Nyberg and commander Fyodor Yurchikhin visited Red Square in Moscow, Russia. All astronauts that fly in a Soyuz spacecraft pay their respects to previous cosmonauts in a number of ceremonies.
