MetOp waits in ‘babysitting’ mode

From Damiano (ESA), 21 May Since it was announced that the launch of MetOp would be delayed, activities at the Baikonur Cosmodrome have focused on putting the satellite into a safe configuration for babysitting. In fact, in terms of preparation for the launch, the spacecraft has been taken back a few steps. For example, some red tags and protective covers have been reinstalled and the set-up for loading the propellant has been removed. In addition, to preserve the solar array, the lights in the cleanroom have been turned down, which creates a sort of penumbra.
