Update from the ATV training team

Received a nice note this AM from ESA's Laura Winterling, with the ATV training team at EAC, Cologne:

After a successful undocking for Edoardo last Friday night, the EAC ATV Training Team is glad to have been part of this 3rd ATV flight and we'd like to thank the ground personnel in ATV-CC, MCC-M and MCC-H for this amazing experience, good work cooperation and friendship.

All hope to continue the great work with the upcoming flight of Albert Einstein and are looking forward to working again on this international venture.

Meanwhile, Lionel Ferra, Michael Markus, Richard Moss, Oleg Polovnikov, Liliana Ravagnolo and Laura Winterling (see image below) have already started training for ATV-4 with the next Expeditions of 2013.

Call for Media: ESA presents André Kuipers mission to ISS

ESA astronaut André Kuipers will talk about his upcoming mission to the International Space Station during two media events: 5 September in Cologne, Germany, and 8 September in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

The events will highlight the scientific and educational aspects of the mission, the operations teams and the mission name and logo. André will be launched aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft in late 2011, subject to confirmation of the return to flight of the Soyuz launchers. Full details via ESA web.

ESA & Russian astronauts train for ATV-3 docking

Kuipers, Dutch national and a member of the European Astronaut Corps, will fly to the International Space Station for a long-duration mission in 2011.

During their mission, André and Oleg will supervise the arrival of ATV-3, ESA's third cargo craft, named Edoardo Amaldi. Here, André and Oleg are training for ATV's arrival.
