Track ATV-5 live

The tracker below will be automatically updated to show the actual ATV-5 orbit after separation on 30 July. The tracker will only start to work after ATV-5 has separated from its Ariane launcher.

The plugin requires a modern broweser to work well. You can always look at our static map for the first few passes or calculate your own trajectory with the TLE's.

What is the orientation of the ATV in orbit (and where I can see it, if possible)? Are the solar panels always normal to the sun's rays (ATV's docking port face the sun), or is it just randomly "tumbling" in space?

  4. Sky says:

I am confused. On a map that I see right now ATV is on an opposite side of the earth than ISS. Even though I'm very sure I seen ATV docked with ISS just yesterday.
